About Us

Meet the Owners!

Patrick and I have been married for 31 years and have 7 children. We got married right out of high school and within a year and a half, had our first child. When he was 7, he was diagnosed with Tourette’s Syndrome and that began our path down the special needs trail. After our third child was born, due to complications, we decided that we could not have any more children naturally. After 11 years, we took a leap of faith, and became foster parents.

It was during this phase of our lives, that we made the decision to go deeper into this ministry of ours and start fostering medically fragile children. We took a series of special classes and became certified to take medically fragile infants. The second call that came in was for a little boy who had had a stroke in-utero, was deaf and blind, and showed severe brain damage on his MRI. We were so excited! The day we met him we fell in love! We couldn’t wait to bring him home. Because he was abandoned at birth, he did not have a name. We mutually decided to call him Samuel. Within a year, he legally became Samuel Eli McAtee. This precious boy changed our lives forever! When he was 4, he became very ill and passed away, but it is because of him, that we are opening this gym.

During Samuel’s short life, we learned so much about sensory processing and the need for a safe place to bring your child. We know what it is like to face public humiliation because of melt downs and to feel the harsh stares of others around us. We are so happy to bring a play place to our community that will offer parents a place “Where they never have to say they are sorry!” Our gym is dedicated to the memory of our precious Sammy and will be a safe place for all families to come and play.

During our 17 years of fostering, we have adopted a total of 4 children, and have had over 30 children placed with us. Because of this, we are very familiar with the various reasons that a child can have difficulties with sensory processing. We look forward to bringing our experience to the community and to meeting all of the families that will come and enjoy our facility!
